Job Description
Title: Medical Technologist
Location: Fort Harrison MT

Medical Technologists
The Medical Technologist shall provide clinical laboratory generalist duties in all areas of the laboratory including phlebotomy urinalysis coagulation hematology immunohematology blood gases microbiology and chemistry.
Medical Technologist shall perform a wide variety of manual and automated procedures including moderate and complex ysis. Inbent at this level develops performs evaluates interprets correlates and validates the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results. Testing procedures are performed on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated techniques and require a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision. The work performed will be in Chemistry (including endocrinology and toxicology) coagulation hematology immunology immunohematology blood gases urinalysis microbiology and phlebotomy. Such position includes requirements to monitor quality control systems and measures; collaborate in the diagnosis and treatment of patients; and provide education for laboratory and other healthcare professionals and others in the medical center setting including the public.
Estimated 30% of the time involved in direct patient care. Contractor shall be responsible for collecting blood and blood products from veterans.
At least one year of clinical laboratory experience.
Bachelor of Science degree in medical laboratory science or a related science.
Certified by the American Society of Clinical pathology (ASCP) Board of certification or Board of Registry or American Medical Technologist or American ociation of Bioytic
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
