Position Overview
Are you an experienced EHS Engineer seeking a dynamic fastpaced environment Our client offers an exciting opportunity as an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer where you’ll contribute to fostering a culture of safety and compliance while driving improvements.

Our client is a Tier 1 supplier specializing in the design and production of lighting equipment and electronic components. Located in Ohio the facility houses design engineering and production teams with a focus on delivering highquality products to the automotive industry. Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a strong focus on safety culture ensuring high levels of employee engagement.
- Develop and implement EHS programs to support the company’s strategy for achieving WorldCl EHS Performance.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations including OSHA Hazard Communication Lockout/Tagout Machine Guarding and more.
- Prepare and submit all required compliance reports to governmental agencies customers and the parent company.
- Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of EHS programs incorporating best practices.
- Lead investigations into injuries illnesses and nearmiss incidents applying root cause ysis to create corrective actions.
- Ensure environmental permit compliance for air and water regulations.
- Manage the safety programs including ergonomics and first aid/CPR training.
- Lead hazardous waste management and disposal processes.
- Drive the company’s sustainability initiatives including carbon neutrality projects and reporting.
- Oversee Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management for all materials.
- Conduct EHS audits inspections and meetings to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and deliver effective EHS training programs.
- Collaborate with all departments to ess hazards and conduct risk essments for new processes and projects.
- Maintain accurate EHS records and ensure timely reporting of incidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety Environmental Management or related field.
- 35 years of experience with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA NFPA EPA and other regulatory requirements.
- Experience with EHS management systems including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (OHSAS 18001).
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 threeshift operation.
- OSHA 10 or 30hour General Industry training is required.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other EHS certifications.
- Experience with OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).
Working Conditions:
- Frequent lifting (up to 40 lbs) and exposure to hazardous materials and heavy machinery.
- Work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings.
