EHS Specialist
Location: Zanesville OH – relocation istance will be offered

We are seeking an EHS Specialist. The ideal candidate will support the implementation and management of environmental health and safety programs. This role will focus on fostering a culture of safety through continuous improvement compliance and proactive risk management.

Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in professional EHS positions.
  • Experience with RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) inspections Storm Water permitting Title V Air Permits especially in Large Quantity Generator settings is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and their implementation is beneficial.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA safety standards (including PPE Lockout/Tagout Hazard Communication Machine Guarding) and other regulatory frameworks such as ANSI NEC and NFPA.
  • Exceptional communication leadership and interpersonal ss with a commitment to spending time on the shop floor engaging directly with supervisors and employees.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical processes with mechanical aptitude and project management ss considered a strong et.
  • Proficiency in data ysis with a keen attention to detail for identifying safety trends and making recommendations.
  • Sed in using Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Project to support EHS initiatives and reporting.

Essential Duties:
  • Lead the administration and daily oversight of environmental health and safety (EHS) programs ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees and encouraging safe work practices across the site.
  • Perform regular EHS audits and safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • ist in environmental and safety communication ensuring accurate and timely reporting to management and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to maintain compliance with local state and federal safety and environmental standards.
  • Provide ongoing support for the administration and maintenance of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) systems.
  • Investigate safety and environmental incidents promptly determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Advocate for the adoption of safer equipment materials and work practices within the facility.
  • Participate in the design and of employee health and wellness programs aimed at improving overall workplace safety.
  • ist in managing the contractor safety program ensuring all contractors are trained and compliant with sitespecific safety requirements.
  • Serve as an active member of the site Safety Council contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of safety initiatives.
  • Facilitate and lead emergency preparedness drills and training for employees ensuring readiness in case of emergency situations.

Education:
  • ociate’s degree in environmental health occupational safety or a related field or at least two years of relevant experience in EHS management within an industrial environment.
