Who You Are:

You are an accomplished Migration Specialist with a specialization in VMWare technologies and cloud migration particularly in transitioning from VMWare to AWS Cloud. You have successfully led numerous endtoend migration projects architecting customized strategies and conducting comprehensive assessments to ensure seamless transitions. Your extensive expertise in VMWare including vSphere and ESXi empowers you to leverage automation tools and industry best practices optimizing postmigration environments for peak performance and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Led endtoend migration projects from VMWare environments to VMC on AWS Cloud ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations.

Architect design and implement VMWare to AWS Cloud migration strategies tailored to meet specific business requirements.

Perform thorough assessments of existing VMWare setups identifying migration risks dependencies and opportunities for optimization.

Develop migration plans timelines and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.

Execute migrations according to defined methodologies leveraging automation tools and best practices to streamline the process.

Collaborate closely with infrastructure operations and security teams to ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.

Monitor migration progress promptly addressing any issues or roadblocks that may arise during the migration process.

Conduct postmigration assessments to validate the performance stability and costeffectiveness of migrated workloads.

Assessment and Planning:

Utilize the VMware Cloud Migration Assessment tool to comprehensively evaluate the onpremises vSphere environment for suitability and compatibility with VMC migration.

Analyze workloads for migration feasibility considering factors like resource requirements dependencies and potential challenges.

Develop a detailed VMC migration plan including workload prioritization resource allocation cost optimization strategies and network migration strategies using HCX.

Migration :

Configure and manage the VMC environment including networking security and storage.

Leverage HCX (VMware Converter or any 3rd party tools like) to seamlessly migrate workloads between onpremises vSphere and VMC ensuring minimal disruption to applications and network connectivity.

Utilize other relevant migration tools (e.g. thirdparty tools) to assist in the migration process if required.

PostMigration Optimization:

Perform postmigration validation and optimization of migrated workloads on VMC.

Monitor performance and resource utilization of migrated workloads within VMC.

Continuously refine the VMC environment for optimal efficiency and security.

Requirements:

810 years of IT infrastructure management experience focusing on VMWare technologies and cloud migration.

Proven expertise in designing and implementing VMWare to AWS Cloud migration strategies with handson experience executing complex migration projects.

Indepth knowledge of VMWare virtualization technologies including vSphere vCenter and ESXi.

Experience working with data centerbased VMWare setups including server consolidation capacity planning and performance tuning.

Profound understanding of Microsoft licensing terms and conditions particularly as they pertain to VMware environments and cloud deployments.

Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) are highly desirable.
