You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailED Technician (Paramedic) Emergency Department (Urgent Care) Mercyhealth Roscoe Nights 7:00P 7:30A 72hrs / 2wksProvides patient care as assigned and per routine according to standards of care shift routines and policies and procedures.Answers telephone calls and call lights in a timely and appropriate mannerDocuments care provided according to standards Maintains a clean work and patient environmentMaintains and orders supplies including scanning stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.Processes orders in an accurate and timely manner. Provides information or relays messages to patients and staff. Directs visitors to patients rooms. Maintains medical records of current patients. Processes patient chargesParticipates in department or unit performance improvement activities. Skills performed include but are not limited to: Performs 12 Lead EKG s Cleaning and bandaging of wounds and suture sites. Removal of sutures Starts IV and administers medications within established scope practice and according to the most up to date Mercyhealth System Prehospital Protocols Performs venipunctures Assists ED MD s with intubation Performs CPR during resuscitations utilizing the LUCAS as appropriate Assist with splint applications Assist with chest tube and CVP insertions by gathering needed suppliesequipment Performs BGM s Transports nonmonitored and monitored patients to the inpatient units Receives prehospital run reports from incoming agencies greets EMS and rooms EMS patients in appropriate areas Provides other care at the appropriate level in accordance with direction from nursing and physician staffEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEGraduate of a Paramedic program. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Current IL Paramedic licensure by IL EMS LicensingCurrent CPR certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)NREMT SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop kneel crouch or smell.The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision and depth perception
