Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Backend Java/AWS Developer to join our clients dynamic team in Washington DC. In this role you will design develop and implement enterpriselevel cloudnative services focused on high availability and performance. Youll work closely with technical teams to architect solutions for passenger rail transportation systems utilizing cuttingedge technologies like Java 17 AWS Kafka and Spring Boot. The ideal candidate is a handson expert in backend development realtime data processing and cloud infrastructure with strong problemsolving abilities and a commitment to agile development.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in client discussions to support technical analysis of business requirements and priorities.
- Design develop test and implement backend cloudnative services with a focus on scalability high availability and performance.
- Architect and develop Kafka streams for realtime eventdriven data processing.
- Build and maintain eventdriven services for EDI transactions and other backend processes.
- Collaborate in an Agile SAFe team environment to meet business and technical requirements.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins CodePipeline and CloudFormation.
- Provide ongoing production support and problem resolution employing Test Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for backend solutions.
Required Skills:
- Expertise in Kafka for realtime event streaming.
- Strong experience with Java 17 Spring Boot and Maven.
- Handson experience with AWS services such as Lambda Step Functions S3 and EventBridge.
- Proficiency in cloudnative design and development.
- Knowledge of application security vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.
Preferred:
- AWS Certified Developer Associate or higher.
- Experience with eventdriven architectures and EDI systems.
