Job Description
We are seeking a Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition Platform Engineer (Senior Software Engineer). The Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition Platform Engineering team is responsible for delivery of enterprise class platforms and services to stakeholders across the firm with a deliberate focus on enabling and delivering a cloud native strategy. Our mission is to deliver stable secure scalable containerbased technologies and innovative services at speeds that delight and satisfy our customers and unleash the skills potential of our customers. This role will provide technical knowledge around TKGI/k8s platforms environments and emerging services to the Cloud PO / PaaS APO (US) with team members and partners to effectively partner with business stakeholders and drive the requirements gathering strategy roadmap and backlog prioritization to deliver next generation hosting environments to our business partners.
This role is expected to be an engineer with platform experience supporting Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition (TKGI). Candidate should have experience in creating delivering and securing Kubernetes clusters at scale for large enterprise financial services or other large regulated sectors. Aggressive modernization milestones and deliverables tied to the hosting strategy cloud strategy and modernization roadmap are tied to delivery. The Senior Software Engineer must adopt and support a culture of diversity intellectual curiosity problem solving and openness.
In this role you will:
- Serve as a Senior Engineer for the highly visible Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated Edition Platform.
- Design influence and execute transformation required for TKGI adoption across the enterprise while ensuring alignment with architecture security and other key Technology frameworks
- Evangelize opportunities challenges and security advantages of integrated cloud services
- Develop and implement cloudbased procedures continuous monitoring compliance and cloud asset inventory strategies.
- Proactively prioritize analyze and address complex problems and incidents to ensure the highest level of environment stability and availability
- Utilize analytical and problemsolving skills to define problems proactively innovate provide credible challenge and translate vision into strategic solutions
Required Qualifications:
Overall 4 years of software engineering experience 3 years working with TKGI/Kubernetes and have a proven track record of building complex infrastructure programmatically through automation and scripting.
- 3 years of experience with Cloud technologies (IaaS PaaS SaaS The TwelveFactor App methodology).
- 3 years of experience with building deploying and securing cloud platforms and applications.
- 3 years of experience with Linux
- 3 years of experience in scripting (Shell Python nodeJS)
- 3 years of Kubernetes or Cloud Foundry experience
- 3 years of experience with Agile CI/CD DevOps concepts.
- 2 years of experience with monitoring logging observability tools (Splunk Grafana AppD New Relic Elastic Open Telemetry)
Desired Qualifications:
- 3 years of VMWare vSphere experience
- 3 years of experience in designing and engineering cloud native solutions.
- 2 years of experience with modern SDLC practices (Test Driven Development Trunk Based Development GitOps)
- 2 years of experience with Helm Kustomize ArgoCD Flux
- 2 years of experience working with service mesh load balancers DDI
- Experience working with cloud security management or governance tools.
- Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences.
- Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multicultural environment by demonstrating coownership & accountability in a matrix structure.
- Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fastpaced enterprise environment.
