Senior Scrum Master
Location: Atlanta GA (Hybrid)
Job Type: 15 Months Contract and Extendable
Key Responsibilities
Lean/Agile Events Facilitation:
Facilitate the adoption of the Scrum Framework including daily scrums sprint planning backlog refinement sprint reviews retrospectives and related team meetings.
Guide the adoption of Lean Thinking utilizing the Kanban Method for visualization and continuous optimization of delivery flow.
Facilitate and participate in scaled events including crossteam planning delivery synchronization and systemslevel inspect & adapt.
Promote and sustain the use of information radiators for teams dependencies and the broader organization.
Planning:
Prepare and facilitate quarterly release and sprint planning in collaboration with the product owner and the team.
Guide feature and story refinement to meet the Definition of Ready in preparation for upcoming sprints and quarters.
Collaborate with the team and product owners/managers to maintain a healthy backlog and short/midterm planning for future releases.
Proactively track and manage feature and storylevel dependencies with other teams.
Team Support:
Promote selforganizing behavior within the team by mentoring and teaching minimizing the desire for control.
Engage with the organization to remove impediments working closely with stakeholders product owners leadership and other teams.
Facilitate communication of delivery progress gaps and challenges while coaching product owners/managers on stakeholder engagement.
Coordinate crossteam orchestration tracking and following up on internal and external dependencies.
Protect the team from external distractions and maintain a focused environment for optimal performance.
Foster high performance within the team by navigating interpersonal challenges and encouraging growth while maintaining psychological safety and trust.
Collaborate with the team to cocreate and refine working agreements definitions of Ready and Done.
Share transparent team metrics suggest new metrics for the teams context and encourage continuous improvement through metrics discussions.
Encourage brainstorming creativity and openmindedness fostering equal participation and bold thinking.
Advice and Guidance:
Coach the team on Lean Agile and Scrum principles aiming for continuous improvement and growth.
Recognize team dynamics individual strengths and areas for growth and engage in coaching conversations to inspire development.
Promote teamwork to enable the Lean flow of value and achievement of sprint goals.
Support the scaling of Lean/Agile adoption throughout other areas of the organization.
Job Requirements
Candidates ideally based in the metro Atlanta GA area.
5 years of experience applying both the Scrum Framework and Kanban Method in growing highperforming teams.
Experience as a Scrum Master and/or Kanban Coach in organizations committed to LeanAgile principles.
Certifications such as LeanKanban Universitys TKP Scrum.orgs PSM or Scrum Alliances CSM are desirable.
Experience guiding Lean/Agile teams in the context of Enterprise Risk and Security services.
Willingness to receive and act on constructive feedback with a growth mindset.
Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills particularly in virtual environments (e.g. Microsoft Teams).
Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritize issues and determine when action is required.
Ability to dive into details when necessary and ask probing questions to clarify challenges.
