TPF Recruitment is representing a prestigious independent firm of chartered accountants located in Newbury. They are now seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant/SemiSenior to join their dynamic team and contribute to their continued success.
The Accounts Assistant/SemiSenior will be responsible for providing a range of accounting services to clients including preparing accounts tax returns and management reports. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and be capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial statements for sole traders partnerships and limited companies.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and reports.
- Complete VAT returns and liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Handle bookkeeping duties including processing invoices receipts and payments.
- Support the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
- Conduct account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Provide assistance during audits and liaise with auditors as required.
- Maintain and update accounting records and client files.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address their queries and provide exceptional service.
- Assist with adhoc projects and tasks as required by the firm.
Requirements
AAT qualified or partqualified ACCA/ACA (or equivalent) is desirable.
Proven experience in an accounting role within a practice environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage QuickBooks Xero).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive approach to problemsolving and the ability to work independently.

For this fantastic Semi Senior opportunity in Wokingham, you may be an AAT studying, and/or perhaps studying ACCA or looking to build further on your experience following qualifying AAT, with a background in accountancy practice, with at least 2 - 4 years or more experience within practice, preparing accounts, tax and other responsibilities for a mixed client base of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
