Senior Health Data Migration Engineer
Location: Remote

Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Health Data Migration Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The ideal candidate will assess and maintain the VAs data migration requirements ensuring effective data handling between VA systems and Cerner. Responsibilities include reviewing error and trace logs monitoring secure data transmission and reconciling data counts. The candidate will manage data flows validate integration reports and maintain data mappings for potential migrations from Cerner to CDW VistA Millennium or cloud databases.
The role also involves evaluating and integrating data from multiple sources minimizing data loss during the mapping process. The engineer will document VistA extraction and update processes quarterly. They will interpret Cerners data model to construct APIs queries and reports for internal and external use and validate Ensemble data flows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and update VAs data migration strategy.
- Review logs and secure data transmissions track messages and reconcile data.
- Validate and update data integration reports for VAs VX130 data domains.
- Maintain data mappings for potential migrations to various VA systems.
- Monitor Queue Depth and track retry attempts and suspended messages.
- Document VistA extraction processes and update documentation quarterly.
- Interpret Cerners data model to support the development of APIs queries and reports.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in a healthcare environment with InterSystems IRIS.
- Experience with VA or DoD legacy health data or private sector health data.
- Expertise in ETL processes (Extraction Transformation Loading).
- Experience introducing new hardware/software while minimizing disruption.
- Experience with Cache
- Experience with VistA IRIS or Ensemble.
- Strong ability to coordinate with development and user teams to manage risks and goals.
- Bachelors degree in CS Engineering Math Information Systems Data Science or Statistics or 15 years of professional experience in lieu of a degree.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with VA systems and EHR implementation.
- Expertise in scalability analysis and system performance optimization.
- Knowledge of endtoend system performance assessment.
