Overview:
The Cyber Security Intern plays a crucial role in supporting the organizations cyber defense strategies and operations. This position provides an invaluable learning experience for finalyear students to gain handson exposure to realworld cyber security initiatives and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring network security and recommend enhancements
- Participate in incident response activities and conduct postincident analysis
- Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments and implementing remediation measures
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies procedures and protocols
- Participate in security awareness training and workshops for employees
- Assist in risk management activities and contribute to risk assessment processes
- Support the security operations center (SOC) in daytoday activities
- Conduct research on emerging cyber threats and report findings
- Assist in implementing and managing security tools and technologies
- Provide support in developing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new security solutions
- Participate in security audits and compliance assessments
- Assist in security incident documentation and reporting
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of security documentation including policies standards and procedures
- Support the investigation of security incidents and breaches
Required Qualifications:
- Finalyear pursuing a Bachelors degree in Cyber Security Information Technology or related field
- Understanding of basic networking concepts and protocols
- Knowledge of cyber security fundamentals and best practices
- Familiarity with security tools such as IDS/IPS SIEM and firewalls
- Understanding of incident response procedures and methodologies
- Basic understanding of risk management and assessment processes
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and management concepts
- Basic knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements related to cyber security
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
