Bioinformatics Scientist

Job Title: Bioinformatics/Data Scientist
Location: Bethesda MD

We are looking for an experienced Bioinformatics/Data Scientist to lead the migration and harmonization of clinical data for our research projects. This role requires expertise in bioinformatics data science statistics and database management ensuring the successful integration and analysis of clinical datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide programming and troubleshooting support to facilitate the dissemination of research data.
• Perform computational analysis and interpret research data results.
• Support experimental design and scientific programming in collaboration with research staff.
• Apply bioinformatics expertise to advise scientists on experimental design troubleshooting and data analysis.
• Maintain detailed documentation of analyses performed and present results during weekly laboratory meetings.
• Conduct statistical analysis and data processing using existing computational methods.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree required. Ph.D. or equivalent experience preferred (three years of specialized experience with a Masters or five years with a BA/BS).
• Strong background in computational analysis bioinformatics and statistics.
• Strong clinical knowledge and interest.
• Excellent analytical organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and master new software critical thinking and problemsolving abilities.
• Strong communication skills both oral and written.
