Overview

Key responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories for patients
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and xrays
• Developing and implementing patient care plans based on medical diagnoses
• Prescribing medications and treatments for various illnesses and injuries
• Educating patients about health maintenance and disease prevention
• Monitoring and managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension
• Referring patients to specialists or other healthcare professionals as needed
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure integrated patient care
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols
• Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records for all patients
• Adhering to ethical and legal standards in healthcare delivery
• Staying updated with medical advancements and best practices in primary care
• Providing guidance and mentorship to medical residents and other healthcare staff
• Engaging in community outreach and education programs
• Participating in oncall and afterhours patient care services

Required qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Board certification in Family Medicine Internal Medicine or related specialty
• Valid state medical license and DEA registration
• Successful completion of a residency program in primary care
• Proven clinical experience in a primary care setting
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Strong diagnostic and decisionmaking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Compliance with HIPAA and other patient privacy regulations
• Demonstrated empathy and cultural competence in patient interactions
• Willingness to adapt to new healthcare technologies and practices
• Capability to handle a highvolume patient caseload
