Coordinates and manages care for patients including those with complex needs.
Delivers written and oral communications that engage audience participants respond to their questions and
concerns and produce specific outcomes and impact. Effectively delegates and supervises based on ones state practice act and an understanding of the concepts of responsibility authority and accountability.
Performs age related patient assessments and nursing interventions such as but not limited to: medications orally and intravenously simple wound/ostomy care enteral feeding invasive/noninvasive blood pressure and temp monitoring end tidal CO2 monitoring bipap care and management short term ventilator management <48 hours stepdown telemetry monitoring
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
Phillips patient monitoring system. Accudose medication dispensing systems Nelcor oxygen saturation monitors EPIC Computer documentation system with Optime (Surgery) and ASAP (Emergency Dept).
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
IV Insertion 36 months experience
Basic EKG interpretation for recognition of high risk arrthymias 6 months
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
BLS ACLS PALS and TNCC. MN RN license.
Shift or schedule requirements.
8 or 12 hour shifts. Not scheduled alone.
Call is expected if the employee is placed on low census but no scheduled call shifts.
Weekends required currently rotating every third weekend
Floating to over units/departments.
Float to ICU and MS or Postpartum or surgical Womens Center patients
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
