Job Description
Job Title: Accountant (CPA or Pursuing CPA)
Location: Toronto Ontario Canada
Employment Type: FullTime
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a Canadian CPA designation or be in the process of pursuing their CPA with current work experience at another CPA firm in Canada. This role is wellsuited for someone with a strong background in audit engagements review compilations tax and assurance particularly with private company clients. If you have a comprehensive understanding of ASPE and experience in corporate finance we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct audit engagements reviews and compilations for private company clients.
- Manage and execute various tax engagements including corporate personal and indirect taxes.
- Provide assurance services with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with diverse team members and contribute to the achievement of team goals.
- Develop a business advisor mindset to support client needs effectively.
- Ensure compliance with ASPE CAS and Canadian Tax regulations.
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously with strong project management and organizational skills.
- Utilize proficiency in accounting software including Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook Caseware Jazzit Tax Prep QuickBooks and Simply Accounting.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a University Accounting degree. Currently holding or pursuing a CPA designation in Canada.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax and audit.
- Strong understanding of ASPE; experience with IFRS is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in audit review and compilation engagements.
- Prior experience in corporate finance is preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with external clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- Great attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality work.
- Strong problemsolving abilities and analytical thinking.
