Overview:
The Material Handler Aerospace plays a crucial role in the aerospace industry responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of materials and supplies necessary for aircraft production and maintenance. The material handler ensures that the right parts materials and tools are available at the right time and place contributing to the smooth operation of the aerospace manufacturing and maintenance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive inspect and store materials and supplies
- Utilize forklifts pallet jacks and other equipment to transport materials
- Ensure accurate documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials
- Prepare materials for shipping including packaging and labeling
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct cycle counts as needed
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines for handling hazardous materials
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to fulfill material requests
- Identify and report any quality or inventory discrepancies
- Operate within strict aerospace industry regulations and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a material handler preferably in the aerospace industry
- Knowledge of aerospace materials tools and parts
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Understanding of inventory management and control
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures
- Physical strength and stamina to handle materials and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
