JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A MEDICAL CODER
Responsibilities as a Medical Coder:
Perform accurate coding of medical records with a focus on CMS 1600 Medicare Part B Adv program CCM and RPM.
Ensure compliance with Medicare coding regulations and guidelines.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain accurate documentation for coding and billing purposes.
Submit and follow up on claims in accordance with CMS and Medicare Part B standards.
Stay uptodate with regulatory changes and adjust coding practices as needed.
Assist in resolving coding discrepancies rejections and denials with timely followup.
Conduct audits and quality control checks to maintain coding accuracy.
Provide guidance and education to healthcare teams on coding best practices
Qualifications as a Medical Coder:
Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 23 years of medical coding experience preferably with CMS 1600 Medicare Part B Adv Program CCM and RPM.
Familiarity with Medicare reimbursement processes and coding regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or onsite setting.
Proficiency with medical coding software and EHR systems.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Chronic Care Management (CCM) and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM).
Strong communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals.
Knowledge of compliance and audit processes within Medicare programs.
Problemsolving skills and the ability to manage codingrelated issues.
