Duration: 13 weeks contract

Shift: 7am 7pm 12hrs/day 36hrs/week

Job Description:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Acute Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit ensuring safety comfort and dignity.
• Conduct thorough assessments of patients physical and psychological status and document changes in condition.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed monitoring for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding care plans rehabilitation goals and discharge planning.
• Continuously monitor patients progress and response to treatment adjusting care plans as needed.
• Work closely with physical therapists occupational therapists social workers and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) preferably using Epic.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; 2 years of recent experience in a rehabilitation or acute care setting preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic EMR is strongly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in rehabilitation nursing are a plus.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
