Job Description
Were looking for a talented Senior SQL Developer with experience implementing solutions and solving complex client problems. In this role you will be responsible for achieving a high satisfaction rating from clients by successfully implementing software solution projects.
About Our Customer
The health and fitness software and payment processing provider in the United States Puerto Rico Canada and Mexico. Founded in 1981 they currently work with 7000 health clubs. Customer offerings include payment processing and gym management solutions that allow managers to track memberships and schedules and automate payment processing functions.
Requirements
- 3 years of proven work experience as a Database Engineer/ETL Developer
- Background in Data warehouse Design & Architecture
- Skills in SQL/ETL Performance Tuning
- SQL knowledge
- Proficiency in working with DBMS and ETL tools
- Knowledge of data modeling principles
- Practice in SQL/NoSQL data storage mechanisms and Big Data technologies
- High attention to detail
- Passionate about complex data structures and problem solving
Nice to Have
Competency in Microsoft stack
English level
Intermediate
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement ETL solutions updating the architecture of our databases as necessary
- Develop or update SQL queries and scripts
- Work with business stakeholders to assist with data modeling or outlining the data requirements to support our business processes
- Develop sourcetotarget mapping or data transformation instructions that outline how to convert data in the source system to the target system as well as map the data values
- Test databases and troubleshoot any issues
These are expectations from the candidate:
- Strong SQL/ETL Developer (Microsoft stack preferrable)
- Data warehouse Design & Architecture principles.
- SQL/ETL Performance Tuning
In other words the candidate should act as Database Engineer on DWH project.

- Azure Synapse dedicated SQL pool (SQL/TSQL) 55%
- Azure Data Factory 30%
- PowerBI Paginated Reports (dataset part mostly) (SSRS) 10%
- PowerBI semantic models Reports/dashboards on top of it 5%
Challenges:
- ETL performance issues
- DataMart performance issues
- Data quality issues (requires lineage analysis)
- Issues related to the performance of dedicated SQL pool in general (number of max concurrent connections quality of model/code etc)
Our Synapse Dedicated is on DW15000c level one step before maximum possible performance level. And still we have periods when the system is under preassure
