Provide technical expertise in the areas of vessel propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery systems, engine room arrangements, piping systems, and general design areas involving proven marine engineering skills.
Serve as a primary point of contact in the plan approval team in these areas during the design development phases of the various newbuilding programs.
Supervise various contract technical personnel that may be assigned specific design development and/or plan review tasks in his area of expertise.
Assist in vendor review, approval, and selection for major items of equipment falling in his area of expertise.
Identify any special issues that may be of significance to the Engineering Manager and the Team Leader(s) as may be applicable.
Identify cost changes and design changes that may improve the vessel's design to the Engineering Lead and Team Leader(s) for consideration for approval.
Coordinate efforts with the other members of the Core Technical Pool as required.
Coordinate efforts with the terminal and Ship-Shore Interface personnel as required.
