The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs is seeking an experienced Forest Manger for the Tribal Department of Forestry. The function of the department is to manage 400000 acres of forested lands on a 650000 acre reservation. The Forest Manger serves as the senior forester under the supervision of the General Manager of the Branch of Natural Resources. The forest manger provides supervision to the forestry department as well as to the Fire Management Department regarding wild land fire matters.

The position requires a high degree of administrative and managerial ability. The forest manger handles supervision of professional and technical work performed by the staff. The forest management program must ensure healthy forest resources a continuing source of stumpage income an employment opportunities for tribal members. This program is a major . The tribes have an integral approach to management of Tribal resources including water fish wildlife recreation cultural grazing and other sources of value. Long range planning as well as sound programs of implementation are essential to meet program requirements. This positions requires a minimum Bachelor of Science degree with a major field of study in Forestry or a related field and 10 years of experience. This position also requires experience as a supervisor or manager. Must submit and pass a criminal background check with Federal Tribal and State Law Enforcement. Must also posses a valid drivers license and pass preemployment drug test.
