Job Description
Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide services at a facility in Woodbury New Jersey. The psychiatrist will offer comprehensive psychiatric care to elderly and infirmed patients at a long term care facility.

Requirements:
Active NJ license
BC/BE
Experience in long term care facilities preferred

Responsibilities:
Provide routine and consultative psychiatric services to residents of the long term care facility ensuring compliance with local state and federal regulations.
Notify the Facility Administrator or Director of Nursing of any changes in services affecting residents including but not limited to changes in the Psychiatrist.
Evaluate all new admissions with psychiatric diagnoses or on psychiatric medications.
Conduct annual evaluations for residents diagnosed with psychiatric conditions Alzheimers or dementia.
Coordinate with the administration to arrange coverage during vacations as needed.
Provide grief counseling for residents and staff on an asneeded basis.
Schedule services at least once per month.
Work towards achieving the lowest effective medication dosage documenting attempts to titrate medications twice a year along with reasons for not titrating when applicable.
