Powertrain Senior Engineer Propulsion Systems (Motor and Inverter)

About Our Client: Our client is a dynamic and wellfunded startup specializing in the development of innovative eVTOL (Electric Vertical TakeOff and Landing) aircraft. They are seeking a highly skilled Powertrain Senior Engineer to focus on the development of propulsion systems including motors and inverters essential for the aircrafts vertical and horizontal flight capabilities.

The Role: They are looking for a dedicated Powertrain Senior Engineer to lead the design and development of propulsion systems for an eVTOL aircraft. This role will involve overseeing both vertical and horizontal propulsion units including motors and inverters and ensuring their successful integration and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design and development of propulsion systems focusing on:
    • Propulsion unit requirements
    • Motor and inverter selection and design
    • Propulsion module unit testing system testing and flight testing
    • Design and construction of test facilities for the propulsion unit
    • Structural and electrical design of components for the propulsion system and test facilities

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of engineering experience in manufacturing aeronautics or related fields.
  • Open to diverse educational backgrounds ages and nationalities.

Desired Experience:

  • Professional design experience with motors and inverters including test facility construction.
  • Experience in EV powertrain development.
  • Over 4 years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in vehicle or drone development (e.g. aircraft automotive robotics).
  • Extensive knowledge of design development manufacturing and testing processes.
  • Businesslevel English proficiency.
  • Basic knowledge of eVTOL technology.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers obtaining safety certifications and managing mass production.
