Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for design development commissioning and maintenance of inhouse Ship Management System (SMS) which includes:
- Perform system and architecture design of Ship Management System (SMS).
- Perform system integration for SMS with third party systems.
- Perform coordinate manage and support of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Set to work (STW) and Harbour Acceptance Test (HAT).
- Perform software configuration management and technical documentation.
- Perform hardware / software maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Liaise with customers project manager and other engineering trades.
- Ensure operationality and functionality of SMS during the maintenance period of the vessel life cycle.
- Maintain close working relationships with customer subcontractors and suppliers.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge in PLC programming and SCADA software.
- Knowledge in control & instrumentation and control system design.
- Knowledge in computer administration cybersecurity and networking concepts.
- Knowledge of standard Communication protocols like Modbus RTU/TCP Profibus RS422 RS485 NMEA CANbus J1939.
- Knowledge in Python JSON Restful Machine Learning and Data Analytics experience will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of international codes Marine Classification/Statutory Rules and Regulations will be an advantage.
- Experience in Site Testing and commissioning will be an advantage.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering in Electrical / Electronics / Computer those with other engineering experiences are also welcome.
- At least 5 years experiences with system architecture design system maintenance and/or IT/Networking
- Ability to work independently under pressure as well as able to lead a small team
- Possess good communication skills to communicate with suppliers and customers at all levels
- Possess good analytical skills and good problemsolving & troubleshooting skills
