At Kongsberg Discovery we are developing new and revolutionary technology that operates from the deepest oceans to the outer space. We are looking for a Software Engineer Consultant that can join our Vessel Robotics team releaving the work load on a time frame of 6 months. In this role you will have to apply in depth technical knowledge of control algorithms and HW signals to create novel solutions for underwater autonomous robots.
In this role you will collaborate with product development and field operations to improve the control algorithms and SW implementation on a product that takes on some of the worlds most challenging problems within environment and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Implement new SW algorithms capable of completing the needs for autonomous operation
- Taking responsibility of improving the products existing SW structure through DevOps activities utilizing Azure Devops as frame work.
- esign and support of SW subsystems. Make complete SW systems integrated with the robot host platform.
Qualifications and experience
- Masters degree or equivalent formal education within one or more of the fields within Cybernetics Computer Science or Electronics Systems Design.
- A few years of programming experience
- Fundamental understanding and some formal background in the principles of modern computer science.
- Some knowledge from real time SW systems on various HW platforms
- Knowledge of data processing and ability to use common tools (Matlab/Python) for data analysis.
- Interest in conducting field experiments and feasibility studies. This includes planning of experiments experiment operational and al competency post processing and interpretation of experiment results. Writing of specifications and documentation from feasibility studies
This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check.

Duration
6 months (with possibility of extension)
Technical Skills:
- Programming: Experience with Python C or similar languages.
- Control Algorithms: Knowledge of control systems and realtime software.
- DevOps: Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
- Data Analysis: Experience using MATLAB or Python for data work.
- Hardware Integration: Understanding how software connects with hardware.
