Software International (SI) supplies technical talent to Fortune 100/500/1000 companies in Canada. We Currently have a long term renewable contract as a Systems Team Lead with our IT consulting client that primarily supports North American clients on various website and backend infrastructure services.
Role(s) Required: Senior System Administrator
Location: Remote (anywhere in Canada/USA/South America but must be able to work on EST with the Canadian team)
Required Start Date: ASAP
Required End Date: 12 months renewable every year
Type: Contract
Total Hours Approved Per Role: 40h/week
Rate: $39 41/hr C2C CDN ( approximately $60000 $62000 USD)

Summary:
Reporting directly to the System Team Lead. This Senior System Admin is responsible for the overall technical management operations ongoing
maintenance and support of our largescale production websites and networks.
Role:
o Management and support of LAMP environment
o Maintain vendor relationships as required for technical infrastructure of office and website systems.
o Work directly with the Development Team Leads and Project Management in managing projects for the website and provide final signoff/approval for release to production.
o Working directly with Senior Management participate in planning and project discussions for various websites.
o Analyze and assess areas of risk to systems and recommend/implement changes as appropriate to the business.
o Continuously assess network and systems security ensuring a high level of systems data security is maintained overall. Report concerns directly to the Senior System Team Lead
o Perform systems and network architectural design for the sites network including capacity planning hardware infrastructure software integration OS and software performance tuning.
o Act as single point of escalation of production issues interfacing with required resources to see issues are resolved in a timely manner.
o Effectively manage risk including monitoring system redundancy and backups based on business requirements and acceptable risk.
o Provide technical assistance and consultation as required to all areas of the company including Project Management Sales Quality Assurance Accounting Customer Service Development and Systems departments.
o Perform special tasks and projects companywide as assigned by the Team Lead.
Responsibilities:
o Managing a large dsitributed LAMP environment
o Facilitate problem solving and collaboration ensure discussions and make decisions that lead toward closure intervene when necessary to aid the team in resolving issues.
o Be part of oncall rotation (12pm 8pm EST 1week duration every 4 weeks).
o Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
o 5 years of experience with LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP)
o Minimum of 2 years of management/leadership experience in a technology oriented organization required.
o Must be well versed supporting web servers
o Strong background with storage SAN (NFS and iSCSI)
o Well versed with ELK stack (Elasticsearch Kibana Beats and Logstash)
o Adding/removing nodes expand clusters rebuilt clusters use InfluxDB
o TCP/IP knowledge BGP and OSPF
o Handson experience working with Linux in a Systems Administrative role
o Handson experience working with Advanced Network Administrative role
including routing switching and security
o Exceptional problem determination and creative problem solving skills
o Strong written and verbal skills
o Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
o Strong documentation and organizational practices
o Extensive experience with many of these:
o MySQL maintenance and troubleshooting
o LAN/WAN/VPN setup and troubleshooting
o Linuxbased and other firewall technology
o Cloud technologies (OpenStack oVirt RHEV or similar)
o Baremetal hardware SAN Switching and Loadbalancing
o Backup technologies
o Systems security
o Automation systems (Ansible Puppet or equivalent)
o Expertise with multiple Web technologies including but not limited to:
HTTP SSL DNS and SMTP protocols.
