The Department ofManagement s Division of IT is leading the charge in modernizingmissioncritical applications through cuttingedge technology and Agilemethodologies. We are onthe lookout for a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with 10 years of experienceand deep expertise in AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) to join our team.This role is pivotal in the transformation of the Iowa Workforce Development s(IWD) UI Tax system ensuring that our systems are rearchitected to leverageindustryleading frameworks and provide exceptional service to both agencystaff and endusers.

This role is specifically designed for a seasoned DevOpsEngineer with substantial handson experience in AWS CDK. The ideal candidate will have aproven track record in developing AWS services particularly Amazon ElasticKubernetes Service (EKS) and will possess extensive experience in designingbuilding and maintaining Istio service mesh within an EKS cluster. Key Responsibilities:

AWS CDK Mastery: Lead the designdevelopment and maintenance of AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK and Typescriptensuring best practices and optimal performance.

Advanced AWS Services Management:Manage configure and optimize a broad range of AWS services including butnot limited to EC2 EKS ECR Cognito Lambda RDS S3 IAM and CloudFront.

Service Mesh Expertise: Architectbuild and sustain Istio service mesh within EKS clusters to ensure seamlessand secure service interactions.

Technical Leadership: Provideauthoritative guidance and technical leadership in the implementation of AWScloud infrastructure influencing and mentoring diverse teams.

Comprehensive Testing: Develop andmaintain robust unit and integration tests to guarantee infrastructure as code(IaC) integrity and reliability.

CI/CD Implementation: Spearhead theimplementation and management of CI/CD pipelines automating the deployment ofinfrastructure and applications for maximum efficiency.

Monitoring & PerformanceOptimization: Collect telemetry set up comprehensive monitoring systemsdashboards and alerts utilizing tools such as FluentBit CloudWatch and Dynatrace togain deep insights into cloud operations and application performance.

Monitor and troubleshootperformance issues ensuring high availability and optimal performance ofinfrastructure and services.

UseHelm charts to package necessary resources and configurations streamlineinstalling upgrading fetching dependencies and configuring deployments onEKS.

Collaboration & Optimization:Collaborate closely with software engineers to optimize application performanceand reliability in AWS environments.

Security & Compliance: Implementand enforce security best practices and compliance controls ensuring the AWSenvironment adheres to the highest operational and security standards.

• AWS CDK Expertise: Minimum 4 years ofhandson experience in AWS CDK development using Typescript. REQUIRED 4 YEARS
