SQL Development Job Description
Overview:
The SQL Development role is crucial to the organizations data management and analysis processes. This position plays a key role in ensuring efficient data retrieval storage and manipulation to support the organizations decisionmaking and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain SQL databases and queries to support various business applications.
- Optimize and tune SQL queries for improved performance and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Participate in the design and implementation of ETL processes for data integration.
- Create and maintain documentation for database processes data mappings and data models.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends patterns and insights that drive business decisions.
- Implement and maintain data security protocols and access controls within the database environment.
- Resolve database issues and perform troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Assist in database capacity planning and infrastructure design.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in SQL development and database management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in SQL development and database management.
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts and SQL fundamentals.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Experience with query optimization and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehouse concepts.
- Ability to work with large datasets and perform data analysis using SQL.
- Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills related to database systems.
- Good understanding of data modeling and database design concepts.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with version control systems and database schema migration tools.
- Certifications in database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Database will be a plus.
- Understanding of cloudbased databases and experience with platforms such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database is desirable.
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra is an advantage.
