Job Description

Chief Legal Officer (CLO) Job Description

Role Overview: DasVita an emerging agritech startup is seeking a Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to oversee and manage all legal aspects of our business. This remote parttime position requires 2025 hours per week and offers equitybased compensation with fulltime salary provided only after securing funding.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Legal Strategy & Compliance: Develop and implement legal strategies to align with the company s business goals ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  2. Contracts & Agreements: Draft review and negotiate contracts agreements and other legal documents including partnership and vendor agreements.
  3. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks manage disputes and oversee litigation as needed.
  4. Corporate Governance: Advise on corporate governance matters ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  5. Intellectual Property: Protect intellectual property including patents trademarks and copyrights and manage IPrelated issues.
  6. Regulatory Affairs: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the agritech industry and ensure the company s compliance.
  7. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with investors stakeholders and external legal counsel to address legal concerns and ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:
  1. Experience: 10 years of legal experience including significant experience in a leadership role preferably in startups or agritech.
  2. Skills: Strong understanding of corporate law contract management intellectual property and regulatory compliance.
  3. Entrepreneurial Mindset: Ability to work independently manage multiple tasks and contribute to strategic planning and decisionmaking.
  4. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate legal concepts to nonlegal stakeholders.
  5. Flexibility: Willingness to work in a dynamic startup environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
