Overview:
The Manager Transport Operations plays a critical role in overseeing the transportation operations of the organization. This position is vital in ensuring the efficient and timely transportation of products contributing to the organizations overall productivity and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience in Handling Reefer ( Cold chain ) transportation including vendor development Operations Management
- Direct and manage transportation operations to meet customer expectations and company objectives
- Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and improve efficiency
- Supervise and mentor transportation personnel including drivers and logistics coordinators
- Implement and enforce transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
- Coordinate with vendors carriers and suppliers to facilitate smooth transportation operations
- Track and analyze transportation metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Manage the transportation budget and monitor expenses
- Resolve transportationrelated issues and provide timely solutions
- Ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of transportation vehicles and equipment
- Participate in the development of transportation strategies and initiatives
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to streamline transportation processes
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to transportation staff
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in transportation management
- Prepare reports and presentations on transportation operations and performance
- Promote a culture of safety and adherence to transportation regulations
- Develope New Vendors across India for various category of transportation including Dry Cold Chain.
- Have an expertise of handling Full truck load part load train movements
- Expertise of Handling drivers compliance management fleet maintenance
- Expertise of Responding to RFQs on timely basis
- Independently lead transport verticals and handle the overall P&L of Transportation
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field
- Proven experience in transportation operations and management
- Demonstrated knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in transportation management software and tools
- Analytical skills to assess transportation data and identify improvement opportunities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced transportation environment
- Detailoriented approach to overseeing transportation logistics and processes
- Problemsolving skills to address transportation challenges effectively
- Understanding of sustainable and costeffective transportation practices
- Certification in Transportation and Logistics (e.g. CSCP CTP TLP) is a plus
- Flexibility to manage transportation operations outside of regular business hours when necessary
- Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management in transportation
- Experience in negotiating and managing contracts with transportation service providers
- Cold Chain Transport experience will be added advantage
