Overview:
The Kafka Developer at TCS plays a crucial role in designing developing and implementing highperformance and scalable realtime data processing solutions using Kafka. They are responsible for creating robust faulttolerant Kafka clusters and ensuring seamless integration with various data sources and consumers. This role is integral to optimizing data flow and processing within the organization ultimately contributing to improved business intelligence and decisionmaking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing Kafkabased solutions for realtime data processing.
- Setting up configuring and maintaining Kafka clusters for optimal performance.
- Integrating Kafka with various data sources and systems including microservices databases and streaming platforms.
- Developing and implementing Kafka Producers and Consumers to efficiently handle data ingestion and consumption.
- Monitoring Kafka cluster performance and ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
- Participating in code reviews and providing technical guidance to team members on Kafka best practices.
- Collaborating with crossfunctional teams to understand data requirements and develop scalable Kafka solutions to meet those needs.
- Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and other technical issues within the Kafka ecosystem.
- Implementing security measures and access controls to protect sensitive data within Kafka.
- Documenting Kafka architecture processes and procedures for knowledge sharing and future reference.
- Participating in the evaluation and selection of new Kafkarelated technologies and tools to enhance the existing ecosystem.
- Supporting testing and deployment activities related to Kafkabased solutions.
- Providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for Kafkarelated issues and incidents.
- Staying updated with the latest developments in Kafka and related technologies to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and building Kafkabased solutions in a largescale enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in Java programming for developing Kafka applications and integrations.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and its interaction with Kafka.
- Expertise in SQL and database technologies for data manipulation and integration with Kafka.
- Experience in implementing RESTful APIs for data exchange and interaction with Kafka.
- Indepth knowledge of Kafka internals including topics partitions brokers and consumer groups.
- Solid understanding of Kafka performance tuning monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience with implementing security and governance controls within Kafka including SSL ACLs and encryption.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex Kafkarelated issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effectively working with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced dynamic environment and deliver highquality results within tight deadlines.
- Relevant certifications in Kafka and related technologies would be a plus.
- Experience with streaming platforms such as Apache Flink or Spark Streaming would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of eventdriven architecture and event sourcing patterns is desirable.
