Anaesthesia technician

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies
• Assist in the induction maintenance and emergence phases of anesthesia
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient vital signs during anesthesia
• Assist anesthesiologists in special procedures (e.g. arterial line placements)
• Perform routine maintenance and quality control on anesthesia equipment
• Ensure the cleanliness and sterility of anesthesia equipment
• Provide support during emergency and resuscitation situations
• Transport and position patients for anesthesia procedures
• Assist with the documentation and recordkeeping related to anesthesia care
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technician program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology
• Experience in operating anesthesia equipment
• Familiarity with emergency response protocols and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced highpressure environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding and adherence to infection control and sterilization techniques
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and assist with patient positioning
