POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides psychiatric diagnosis treatment and consultation to the clients families and staff. Provides medical psychiatric consultation to community physicians and provides clinical oversight and supervision to multidisciplinary teams in the organization.
POSITION COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate knowledge of theories and principles of human behavior psychopathology diagnostics categories family systems theory and mental illness.
- Skills in listening interpreting and implementing clinical interventions.
Essential Functions:
- Provide initial psychiatric diagnoses and assessments in emergency and nonemergency situations.
- Provide medication management and other treatment interventions to clients and patients.
- Consult with general medical professionals regarding the psychiatric condition of their patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana.
- Completed accredited Training Residency in Psychiatry.
- Positive references from past professors/supervisors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must occasionally stand walk stoop reach kneel and assist in physical patient management in emergency situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The position may require some travel to other local sites and work some evening and weekend hours.
