About the Position:
Our client one of Canada s leading Consulting Engineering firms is actively seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team!

Reporting directly to the Controller the Accountant will play a key role in managing all financial operations from fullcycle accounting and financial reporting to maintaining accurate records. This role also includes developing robust control measures to uphold data accuracy and integrity.

We are looking for a proactive and highly experienced individual with strong selfmotivation and a handson approach. The ideal candidate thrives in fastpaced dynamic environments and has excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the monthend quarterend and yearend close processes including preparing journal entries reconciling accounts and maintaining working papers.
  
• Handle assigned project accounting tasks such as invoicing managing accounts receivable payments and financial reporting.
  
• Continuously evaluate and propose improvements to automate and enhance accounting and reporting processes.
  
• Take ownership of adhoc projects and analysis contributing to informed business decisions and risk mitigation.
  

Education & Qualifications:

• CPA designation or close to completing certification.
  
• 3 years of general accounting experience in a corporate setting or equivalent experience with a public accounting firm.
  
• Project accounting experience is a plus.
  

Skills & Competencies:

• Meticulous wellorganized and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  
• Strong financial acumen with sharp analytical skills.
  
• Selfdriven resultsoriented and comfortable working in a fastmoving environment.
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  
• Familiarity with Deltek Vision (ERP software) is an asset but not essential.
