Job Description
The Construction Plans Examiner is responsible for conducting highly technical reviews of commercial and industrial building plans covering disciplines such as Building Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fastpaced environment and be capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively. This role requires meticulous attention to detail excellent judgment and a strong knowledge of building construction codes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Review construction plans for commercial and industrial buildings to ensure compliance with building codes.
- Analyze proposed designs and plans using building construction codes and procedures.
- Utilize standard office equipment and measuring devices to carry out tasks.
- Prepare and submit reports in a timely and complete manner.
- Maintain daily time and labor reports as per company policy.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Ability to pass a background check screening (in compliance with Floridas Jessica Lunsford Act or equivalent state regulation).
- State of Florida Commercial Plans Examiners License.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints construction plans and specifications.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues supervisors and clients.
- Mathematical proficiency to perform basic arithmetic operations.
- State of Florida Electrical Plans Examiners License.
- State of Florida Mechanical Plans Examiners License.
- State of Florida Plumbing Plans Examiners License.
- State of Florida Commercial Building Plans Examiners License.
