Job Description

A Licensed Vertical Elevator Technician is a skilled professional who installs maintains repairs and troubleshoots vertical transportation systems such as elevators escalators and sometimes moving walkways. These systems are essential for the safe and efficient movement of people or goods within multistory buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation: Involves assembling and setting up new elevator systems in buildings including both the mechanical and electrical components.
  • Maintenance: Regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure that elevators operate safely and efficiently.
  • Repairs: Diagnosing and fixing mechanical electrical or hydraulic issues in elevators and escalators.
  • Troubleshooting: Using diagnostic tools and schematics to find the root causes of issues whether its a malfunctioning door a broken cable or an electrical failure.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all work adheres to local state and national safety codes such as those set by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and other relevant organizations.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems electronics and hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in using tools such as multimeters hoists and electrical testing equipment.
  • Strong problemsolving skills for diagnosing complex elevator systems.
  • Physical dexterity and fitness as the job often involves working in tight spaces climbing and lifting heavy equipment
