Job Title: Au Pair for Two Siblings Bishopscourt Cape Town.
We are seeking a playful energetic and creative au pair to join a family and support two wonderful siblings: a 2yearold and autistic 4yearold. The ideal candidate should love engaging in imaginative play be childlike at heart and have a knack for finding new and fun ways to connect with and stimulate their growing minds. Main Purpose of the job:
To be a helping hand for their unique and specific support needs giving them the necessary guidance and support to thrive. A special interest and passion in neurodiversity and being a secure longterm source of support are of the utmost importance.
The candidate will be trained by the NDC Facilitation Academy and thereafter receive personalised support from a registered counsellor for up to 46 weeks working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team based at the Neurodiversity Centre.
Job Objectives:
Becoming a core member of the multidisciplinary team to support their individual needs if and when needed.
Providing companionship and emotional support for them at home.
Support and scaffolding for their regulation needs (lessening any uncertainty and anxiety).
To carry out duties such as school pickups and drop offs outings and appointments and preparing meals and snacks.
Light housework (wiping down table after eating loading and unloading dishwasher helping pack away activities/toys).
General Requirements:
A valid driver s license and reliable car Essential.
Fluent in English Essential.
JobRelated work experience:
Previous experience in a role supporting neurodivergent children Essential.
Previous experience working with younger children under the age of 5 years old Essential.
JobRelated Knowledge:
Familiarity and knowledge of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Essential.
Familiarity with a low arousal childled neuroaffirming approach Essential.
JobRelated Skills:
Able to assist with planning and implementing activities with the children and assist with school projects using creative and flexible approaches to teaching and learning according to each child s learning profile.
Ability to minimise stress and anxiety for both children by utilising a low arousal approach Essential.
Strong verbal communication skills with children and parents Essential.
Organisational skills i.e. ability to implement structure strong time management imperative Essential.
Social play and life skills Essential.
Relationship building skills Essential.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday: 09:0017:00
Salary Range:
R12 800 R16 000.
