Senior DevOps Coach

Job Summary:

Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced forwardthinking Senior DevOps Coach. Join our team and help our clients utilize modern opensource technologies to develop deliver and support applications while leveraging concepts of Lean Agile Kanban and SAFe. Our client is looking to modernize and expand their DevOps practices. In this role you will be responsible for working with clients to evaluate their current DevOps culture processes and tools to make recommendations for improvements lead the of identified improvements and be a handson engineer as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior DevOps Architect will provide development and operations (DevOps) services to support our government clients. Duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

Analyze current technology utilized within the organization and provide recommendations on improvements.

Establish milestones for implementation and improvements to DevOps pipelines and tool suites.

Assist developers and engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions.

Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including products processes materials staff training license costs and time to implement.

Work closely with development and engineering professionals within the agency to maintain infrastructure and software required for products to be continually delivered effectively.

Mentor and train other developers and engineers throughout the agency and seek to continually improve processes agencywide

Helping coach agency DevOps Engineers in:

o Using scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems

o Installation and management of open source monitoring tools

o Configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet Chef Ansible Salt)

o Architecture for continuous integration and deployment and continuous monitoring

o Containerization technologies (e.g. LXC Docker Rocket)

o Implement and maintain continuous integration testing and delivery using DevOps tools and methods

o Implement and maintain system integration testing and deployment using DevOps tools and methods

o Implement upgrades to the software factory as needed

Develop and enhance DevOps operations in multiple cloud service environments

Perform in the entire software development life cycle of the DevOps tool chain

Collaborate on idea creation and development of the DevOps tool chain

Support the ongoing lifecycle maintenance of the DevOps tool chain

Support the software quality efforts associated with product deliveries

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

Minimum of ten (10) years of software engineering and DevOps experience

Minimum of five (5) years of management or coaching experience

Must have experience in designing and implementing end to end continuous delivery pipelines

Must have deep AWS cloud experience in a production environment (e.g. network security deployment automation serverless technologies)

Must have strong experience with Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code

• Experience with Continuous integration tools: Jenkins or Azure DevOps
  
• Experience with AWS Container Services (EKSECSFargateetc)
  

Minimum Education:

Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science Information Technology Management or Engineering.

Required Certifications:

Agile Certification Required

SAFe Certification Preferred

Technical Development certifications Preferred

Other:

• Must be authorized to work in the US.
