Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and manage complex electrical engineering projects from design through to implementation and maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise mentoring junior engineers and ensuring the successful completion of projects in alignment with company standards and industry regulations.

KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Lead Electrical Coordination: Oversee all electrical works in collaboration with the MEP Coordinator to ensure seamless integration with other project disciplines.

Contract Review: Analyze and review contract drawings tender circulars project specifications and relevant codes for incorporation into shop drawings.

Crossdiscipline Coordination: Ensure all electrical shop drawings are fully coordinated with other engineering disciplines (mechanical civil etc.).

Material & Technical Submittals: Review electrical material and technical submittals ensuring compliance with approved specifications prior to submission to the client/consultant.

Cost Analysis Support: Review and verify detailed electrical drawings from which project costing is based.

Proposal Development: Prepare and submit proposals in line with client/consultant requirements working closely with the MEP Coordinator.

Issue Clarifications: Review and submit Requests for Information (RFI) or Clarifications when discrepancies arise in IFC drawings or other contractual documents.

Material & Shop Drawing Preparation: Anticipate and prepare necessary electrical materials and shop drawings in line with site schedules to avoid delays.

Subcontractor Drawing Review: Check shop drawings submitted by subcontractors for compliance with project specifications contract drawings bill of quantities and site conditions.

Subcontractor Coordination: Facilitate meetings and coordinate with subcontractors in collaboration with the MEP Coordinator and Project Manager.

Quantity Surveying Support: Assist the Quantity Surveyor in preparing quantity takeoffs for materials required in purchase requests. Claims and Variations: Prepare necessary documentation in coordination with the Quantity Surveyor for claims or variation orders.

Material Delivery Coordination: Monitor and follow up with the procurement officer and storekeeper on the timely delivery of electrical materials.

Supplier Quality Assurance: Visit manufacturer and supplier facilities including assessing subcontractor past work to ensure quality and workmanship standards are met alongside the MEP Coordinator.

Site Workmanship & Quality Control: Take responsibility for ensuring the quality and workmanship of electrical installations onsite. Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as required by the project or management.

Occasional Task List:

1. Site Visits: Conduct periodic inspections of manufacturing and supplier facilities and subcontractor works ensuring adherence to project quality standards.

2. Client/Consultant Presentations: Provide technical support during client or consultant meetings for projectrelated discussions.

3. Project Risk Assessment: Participate in project risk assessments focusing on electricalrelated hazards and compliance.

4. Technical Training: Mentor junior engineers and technical staff guiding technical aspects and best practices in electrical engineering.

EDUCATION BACKGROUND & SKILLS:

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience preferably with Ashghal projects in Qatar.

Licenses: MMUP (Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning) and QCDD (Qatar Civil Defence Department) certifications preferred. Technical Knowledge: Proficient in safe electrical work practices procedures and standards.

Skills:

Proficiency in operating electrical and electronic test equipment. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Strong leadership and project management skills. Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration abilities.

Computer literate with expertise in MS Office and relevant electrical design and analysis software. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex technical issues efficiently.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure while maintaining a high level of quality and safety standards

Job Type: Fulltime

Pay: QAR5.00 QAR15.00 per month
