Job Description
- Assist in the development of emergency drill scenarios and conduct emergency mock drills, to check readiness for emergencies.
- Report and respond on an immediate basis to HSE incidents using the established emergency communication channels and protocols, to minimize damages as much as possible.
- Provide advice and assistance to departments and project contractors so they comply in a consistent way to reduce the risk to their subordinate and the working environment.
- Participate in incident and accident investigation process and report accordingly.
- Assist, guide, and audit on effective implementation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) to identify and control all potential hazards in the workplace using hierarchy of controls.
- Carry out and assist regular HSE inspections (Routine, Weekly Safety Tour, and VIP Walk-through) of the work areas with the respective VIP’s, Department Managers, HSE representatives and prepare reports.
- Review and evaluate each department's risk assessment register to ensure its effectiveness.
- Monitor for factory discharges of all kinds, waste management, indoor and outdoor air quality, and other environmental related activities
- Conducts HSE inductions new employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Conduct random safety/toolbox talks and awareness sessions relative to the nature of activities being undertaken of project contractor and other Kuwait Steel Department activities to implement safety measures-promote/ensure safe work practices.
- Disseminate safety information throughout the workplace via company e-mail, safety bulletin, signages, and video presentations.
- Conduct an awareness training for Operational Control Procedures (OCP) and other related safety trainings.
- Ensure all firefighting and fire detection & alarm system are well inspected and in working good condition.
