Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Lead Database Administrator with 8 years of relevant experience to manage and oversee our database environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health performance and security of the databases as well as ensuring high availability and optimal functioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain database systems to ensure performance availability and security.
- Perform installation configuration upgrading and patching of database systems.
- Monitor and optimize database performance identify bottlenecks and apply necessary fixes.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies for databases.
- Ensure database security by implementing access controls encryption and data masking where required.
- Work closely with development teams to assist with database design and query optimization.
- Perform regular system and database health checks.
- Plan for capacity and scaling of the database infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Automate routine database administration tasks for efficiency.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs and other team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 8 years of handson experience in database administration (Oracle MySQL SQL Server PostgreSQL or similar).
- Proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with database backup and recovery tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of database security principles data masking and encryption methods.
- Handson experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
- Strong knowledge of database architecture indexing and storage optimization.
- Proficiency in scripting for automating tasks (Shell Python PowerShell etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud database services such as AWS RDS Azure SQL or GCP Cloud SQL is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor junior team members.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Additional Information:
- Must be willing to work from the office in Hyderabad.
