Job Description
Livein assistant House Steward required for a large Estate based in Dorset.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in a family house working at the centre of a wellrespected and historic Estate which has been in the same family ownership since the 1500 s.
The sense of grandeur and history is awe inspiring and the offer is for you to be part of this.
This is a fully staffed property.
Duties include assisting the Butler with ensuring the security and safety of the family and property including maintaining all necessary systems and providing training to household staff. You will help manage the maintenance and repairs of the property overseeing service work as needed. Additionally you will provide butler services such as receiving guests attending meals managing household items and maintaining the wine and drink inventories as and when required.
The role also includes caring for the family pets and general household tasks such as cleaning vehicle maintenance and attending to seasonal duties at a second residence. Responsibilities also involve opening and closing the property managing vehicles overseeing fire and security systems and performing routine tasks like maintaining fireplaces boilers and household consumables. You will also be responsible for managing the swimming pool and Pool House during summer ensuring cleanliness and adequate stock of refreshments.
Weekly tasks include inspecting and addressing maintenance issues winding clocks and ensuring firewood supplies while monthly duties involve checking the boiler water pumps and generator.
40 hrs per week on a rota basis working 10 days on 4 days off or 5 days on 2 days off one weekend off per month.
This is a livein position with a two bedroom flat provided (utilities paid). Partner and pets welcome!
Role to commence once the right candidate is found.
Salary of 34k 38k on offer depending on experience.
