Job Description
Job Title: Staff Revenue Accountant
Location: Chicago IL (Inperson)
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Salary: $54000 $67500
We are seeking a detailoriented Staff Revenue Accountant to join our Chicagobased team. This role is integral to daily and monthly revenue accounting operations and reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The Staff Revenue Accountant will ensure accurate revenue recognition support the monthend close process and review sales contracts. The ideal candidate has 13 years of accounting experience preferably in public accounting or SaaS with strong technical accounting skills and is in pursuit of or already possesses a CPA license.
Key Responsibilities:- Must Haves:
- Review sales contracts to ensure revenue recognition aligns with ASC 606 and company policies.
- Ensure accurate transfer of sales data from Salesforce CPQ into Sage Intacct for proper revenue recognition and invoicing.
- Perform monthend close activities including revenue deferred revenue and unbilled revenue reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Service Operations and support teams on revenue recognition from time tracking systems and billing.
- Maintain current knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Nice to Haves:
- Update client support revenue start dates to align with service implementation.
- Assist with monthly revenue analysis and forecasting.
- Participate in process improvements for the Order to Cash cycle.
- Support external audits with documentation and responses.
- Conduct research on accounting standards and help update policies.

Must Haves:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 13 years of experience preferably in public accounting or SaaS.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP particularly ASC 606.
- CPA license (in progress or completed).
