Job Description

Our client a dynamic public practice accounting firm in Kelowna BC is on the lookout for a skilled bookkeeper or junior accounting technician with three to five years of experience to join their expanding team. As the firm has grown significantly in recent years they now support a diverse range of clients across industries including professional services manufacturing construction restaurants retail automotive and agriculture.

For this position responsibilities will vary but will include:

  • Completion of fullcycle bookkeeping including preparation of GST PST WCB returns;
  • Interaction with clients to gather necessary documents for bookkeeping and various types of tax returns;
  • Assisting other staff members on various tasks including office admin tasks as on needed basis; and
  • Working closely with the senior accountants assist clients with their bookkeeping needs.

In this closeknit office setting you ll have the opportunity to build strong ongoing relationships with clients often serving as their primary point of contact.

We are seeking a proactive individual with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment. Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to operational excellence are essential. This is a fulltime position but we are open to candidates who may need flexible hours initially with the potential to transition to a fulltime schedule.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years senior bookkeeping and/or accounting experience preferably in a public practice environment is required;
  • Proficiency in accounting software and tools such as Sage QuickBooks CaseWare and Profile;
  • Strong computer literacy including MS Office Suite; exceptional Excel skills;
  • Excellent communication skills and problemsolving abilities;
  • The ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
  • Excellent attention to detail accuracy and analytical thinking;
  • The ability to thrive in a teambased environment although you are selfmotivated and able to function autonomously;
  • Cando positive disposition; someone who takes pride in a job well done is perfect for this role!

In addition to a robust benefits package the salary for this position is anticipated to be $28$32/hour and will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
