Position: Nursing/House Supervisor
General Summary of Duties: As a Nursing/House Supervisor you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing nursing personnel. Your leadership will ensure the highest standards of patient care and staff support. You will be a visible and accessible leader providing guidance coaching and direction to our dedicated nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support nursing staff by actively engaging in their daily activities.
- Participate in QA/PI projects to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Strictly follow infection control policies and procedures.
- Serve as a role model by adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Facilitate and adjust scheduling to meet hospital needs.
- Provide fair and consistent leadership across all departments.
- Communicate and address QI risk and safety concerns to the appropriate departments.
- Ensure timely completion of variance reports and statements of concern.
- Promote patient satisfaction by verifying the use of whiteboards and other criteria.
- Manage emergency callin situations efficiently.
- Operate effectively within established hospital procedures during emergencies.
- Promote teamwork and clear communication among coworkers.
- Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Act as a resource and problemsolver for staff.
- Represent the health center with compassion integrity and excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to present information and respond to questions effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret professional journals hospital policies and technical procedures.
- Rapid problemsolving abilities to handle a variety of variables and set priorities.
- Positive and supportive behavior towards healthcare team members patients and families through effective communication and professional demeanor.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing with 23 years of management experience is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
- Two to three years of previous management experience is preferred.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse License
- Current BCLS certification
- Current NRP certification within 6 months of hire
