Position: Nursing/House Supervisor

General Summary of Duties: As a Nursing/House Supervisor you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing nursing personnel. Your leadership will ensure the highest standards of patient care and staff support. You will be a visible and accessible leader providing guidance coaching and direction to our dedicated nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support nursing staff by actively engaging in their daily activities.
• Participate in QA/PI projects to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Strictly follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Serve as a role model by adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
• Facilitate and adjust scheduling to meet hospital needs.
• Provide fair and consistent leadership across all departments.
• Communicate and address QI risk and safety concerns to the appropriate departments.
• Ensure timely completion of variance reports and statements of concern.
• Promote patient satisfaction by verifying the use of whiteboards and other criteria.
• Manage emergency callin situations efficiently.
• Operate effectively within established hospital procedures during emergencies.
• Promote teamwork and clear communication among coworkers.
• Uphold patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Act as a resource and problemsolver for staff.
• Represent the health center with compassion integrity and excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to present information and respond to questions effectively.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret professional journals hospital policies and technical procedures.
• Rapid problemsolving abilities to handle a variety of variables and set priorities.
• Positive and supportive behavior towards healthcare team members patients and families through effective communication and professional demeanor.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing with 23 years of management experience is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of three years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Two to three years of previous management experience is preferred.

Certificates/Licenses:

• Current Iowa Registered Nurse License
• Current BCLS certification
• Current NRP certification within 6 months of hire
