Job Type: FullTime/PartTime/Contract
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detailoriented and experienced Database Administrator to manage and maintain our clients database systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance integrity and security of databases as well as troubleshooting and resolving database issues. Strong technical expertise and problemsolving skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design implement and maintain database systems to meet the needs of the organization
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficiency
- Ensure the security integrity and availability of databases through regular backups and updates
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues including performance problems and data inconsistencies
- Develop and maintain documentation for database systems processes and procedures
- Implement and manage database security policies and access controls
- Assist with database migrations upgrades and patch management
- Collaborate with other IT staff and departments to support application development and integration
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks including indexing tuning and data cleanup
Qualifications:
- Postsecondary education in computer science information technology or a related field
- Previous experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role is required
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g. SQL Server Oracle MySQL)
- Proficiency in database design optimization and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures and data security best practices
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified Database Administrator Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus
