Job Description

Full service engineering firm with tradition and reputation that goes back over 40 years looking to add a Bridge Engineer to their Indianapolis office!


Responsibilities:

  • Design bridges small structures and retaining walls
  • Perform hydraulic modeling to size bridges over waterways
  • Design roadway approaches leading up to the bridges
  • Prepare plans for bridges that meet applicable INDOT design specifications and AASHTO policies/procedures
  • Design single/multi span bridges/small structures using the following:

o Steel girder plate

o Prestressed concrete girder

o Reinforced concrete slab

o Box girder beams

  • Perform bridge sizing structural design seismic analysis bridge plan and special provision development and estimating
  • Supervise CAD technicians
  • Provide indepth fracture critical routine and scour critical bridge inspections/load ratings
  • Prepare inspection reports


Requirements:

  • BS in civil engineering with an emphasis on structures (either major or 5 courses)
  • Knowledge of prestressed concrete that was either learned through six months of work or a college course



Salary is commensurate with experience.
