Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position coordinates all aspects of managing a donor in the workup process. This includes assessing the emotional wellbeing of the donor conducting the information session and health screening coordinating and supporting the donor through the physical examination stem cell collection post donation followup and completing required documentation

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Workup Coordination:

  • Donor Support: Assess and address donor needs and concerns offering personalized support while respecting cultural and agerelated differences.
  • Donor Experience: Enhance donor experience through exceptional service and personalized interactions.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Arrange and conduct donor information sessions manage scheduling for physical exams and medical clearances and ensure timely completion of donationrelated tasks.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Oversee collection and management of required documents blood samples and prescriptions ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Collection Support: Assist with donation activities including postdonation tasks and communication with relevant teams to address any issues.
  • Case Management: Keep the Case Manager and donor updated on progress handle documentation and paperwork and work with thirdparty exam sites if needed.
  • Recovery and FollowUp: Contact donors for recovery assessments arrange necessary blood samples and manage any barriers or issues that arise.
  • Confidentiality and Communication: Facilitate communication between donors and recipients ensuring confidentiality and handling donor management under research protocols when necessary.

Continuous Process Improvement:

  • Strategy Implementation: Adopt and implement strategies for continuous process improvement to meet organizational and departmental goals.

Continuing Education:

  • Training and Knowledge: Attend NMDPsponsored meetings and trainings and stay updated with current policies and industry knowledge.

Other Duties:

  • Compliance and Operations: Adhere to NMDP standards and applicable regulations work with team members to ensure optimal donor experiences and participate in team responsibilities project teams and other assigned duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to:

  • Flex working hours based on donors needs. This includes working nontraditional/outside of core business hours (evenings weekends and occasional holidays).
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking and decisionmaking skills is required.
  • Demonstrate intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft office software strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete sensitive data forms.
  • Exhibit welldeveloped interpersonal skills dealing with people of different cultures and styles.
  • Demonstrate advanced communication skills to include writing and oral abilities to connect with a wide range of people to discuss sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and ability to apply concepts of active listening and empathy in dealing with people who are experiencing major life decisions.
  • Learn medical terminology and explain complex medical concepts to the general public in easy to understand terms.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Postsecondary education such as a certificate associates or bachelors degree. A combination of relevant education certification or experience in addition to the minimum experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Three years of experience interacting with patients clients or customers in a healthcare nonprofit or business setting.
  • Fluent in English

Other Requirements:

Availability for possible occasional overnight travel and flexibility to work outside of core business hours (evenings weekends and some holidays) is necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role but are not required for consideration)

  • Associates or bachelors degree in a health or science field.
  • Medical terminology casenote documentation and medical histories.
  • Patient interaction or care experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment to include a demonstrated knowledge of Good Tissue Practices (GTP) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of COFEPRIS
