Job Description
- Ensure the classroom environment is safe inclusive and conducive to learning.
- Develop and modifying lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects as well as social and life skills.
- Manage classroom behavior and implementing positive behavior support strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to update them on student progress.
- Monitor student progress maintaining accurate records and adjusting teaching methods as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
- A Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
- Must hold a valid Illinois teaching certification in Special Education with LBS1 endorsement.
