As a Graduate Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the development of solutions that have a direct impact on the telecommunications and wireless industry.In this role you will be reporting to the Hardware Development Manager working on multiple hardware designs and a wide range of products for spectrum monitoring products.
Responsibilities
Hardware development including detailed circuit design prototyping test and verification system integration and support in production.
Develop Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layouts assemblies and systems for manufacture.
Prototype test new designs and fix issues.
Produce design documentation to allow longterm support of the product.
Archive designs (software and hardware) to ensure company intellectual property is preserved.
Develop bespoke test tools for your designs as required using Gitlab for version control and as part of collaborative software development.
Plan and prioritise your work to ensure that project timescales are met.
Provide weekly status reports/updates on your projects.
Liaise as required with manufacturing product management marketing and after sales support teams.

PCB design layout experience in schematic design.
Ability to debug and fault find.
Knowledge of highspeed digital design.
Knowledge of radio systems architecture.
Knowledge of radio circuit simulation and design.
Experience with system test and characterisation.
Hand soldering skills for prototype modifications.
Hands on debugging skills using oscilloscopes and logic analysers.
Ability to be flexible and work independently or as part of a team as required.
Proactive selfstarter with excellent attention to detail and a passion for quality.
Desirable
Knowledge of Software Defined Radios and Digital Signal Processing algorithms
Knowledge of RF test and measurement techniques using VNA spectrum analysers power meters etc
Knowledge of bus protocols PCIe SPI I2C Ethernet .
Experience in FPGA design using Verilog or VHDL design language.
Experience using Linux embedded systems.
Experience in using microcontrollers and SOC devices.
Experience in writing embedded software in C and Assembler.
Familiarity with rapid prototyping of RF designs and mechanical structures
